Dr. Erdi Şimşek from the Department of Foreign Language Education visited the University of Granada, Spain, within the scope of the Erasmus Staff Mobility Programme. During the five-day mobility period, which concluded on 29 May 2026, Dr. Şimşek participated in a series of academic meetings and institutional visits to strengthen international collaboration. As part of the program, Dr. Şimşek met with the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Katia Caballero Rodríguez, as well as faculty members Prof. Natalia Martínez León and Prof. Ángel Miguel Felices Lago. He also visited the University’s Modern Languages Center and the historic Rectorate building, Hospital Real.
Throughout the mobility, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Bartın University and the University of Granada, particularly within the New-Gen Language Teachers project, in which both institutions are partners. The meetings resulted in a mutual commitment to further strengthen existing academic ties and explore future collaborative opportunities.
Dr. Şimşek also actively participated in the final meeting of the LEyLA Project (Language Education for Young Language Learners), an initiative involving the University of Granada, which aims to develop an internationally recognized teacher profile for successful plurilingual language education in early childhood settings.
The mobility program provided valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, institutional networking, and the development of future international partnerships in language teacher education.
