About the Department

ELT

The Department of Foreign Language Education

The primary objective of the department is to train teachers equipped with foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes who will serve at all levels in both the public and private sectors. These teachers will adopt progressive perspectives and ethical values, be open to innovation and developments in English teaching, and develop a critical and multicultural viewpoint on language issues arising from global English usage, enabling them to make pedagogical decisions suitable for various English teaching environments. The instruction in this undergraduate program is conducted in English and covers areas such as language, linguistics, culture, literature, and primarily language teaching. Students participate in practical classes in schools to transform their theoretical knowledge into skills and to further develop their knowledge and skills through practice, culminating in an internship in the final period of their studies.

Our mission is to foster continuous improvement, entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainability, and to produce qualified human resources who will contribute globally to education, research, and social responsibility activities with a student-centered approach.

Our vision is to be a leading department that targets continuous improvement and sustainability, conducts scientific and community-focused research and development activities, and provides high-quality education.

Graduates of the English Teaching Program are qualified to teach English at all levels of schools. Our students also have the right to pursue postgraduate education, take up academic positions at universities, or apply for appropriate positions in public institutions through the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS). Graduates of the English Language Education program are eligible to work as "English teachers" in both public and private educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Additionally, they have extensive job opportunities in various positions within the tourism sector, ministries and their associated public institutions, media organizations, the translation industry, and the advertising sector, equipped with advanced knowledge of English language and culture.
