"Language: What We Don't Know that We Know"

Moderated by Research Assistant Betül Çimenli, first Bartın ELT Language Talk was given by Prof. Dr. Gračanin Yüksek from Middle East Technical University. Stating that the task of a linguist is to discover what knowledge the language users have that allows them to use the language and how this knowledge is obtained, Prof. Dr. Gračanin Yüksek took the audience on a small exploration with examples in Turkish and English in her talk.

During our first event both our rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun and dean of faculty of education Prof. Dr. Çetin Semerci gave introductory speeches. As a part of Anadolu Project, Foreign Language Education departments at both Bartın University and Middle East Technical University will continue organizing events on language education and language studies.
